With King Charles III’s coronation scheduled for May, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been extended an invitation to witness the ceremony. A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told ET that they were invited by email.
“His Majesty’s officials and the Duke have been emailing back and forth about the upcoming coronation. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s attendance cannot be confirmed at this time “What a spokesman for Harry and Meghan has to say.
It’s commonly believed that the two will not be invited to Charles’ coronation on May 6. Last month, an insider told ET that Charles insisted his two sons attend his wedding despite tensions in the family.
In other words, “of course Charles wants his son at the coronation,” the source said. “In many ways, this is a watershed point in his life. He is quite close to his two sons and would like Prince Harry to be there for any important occasions.”
Someone close to King Charles has indicated that the monarch desires to repair familial ties. “Their names will be on the list of guests. Things would seem pretty horrible if they weren’t.”
After forcing Harry and Meghan out of Frogmore Cottage, which has functioned as their official residence since their wedding, Charles’ offer may indicate that he wishes to make peace.
According to a statement given to ET, “We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been ordered to evacuate their property at Frogmore Cottage.”
Prince Andrew, the disgraced brother of King Charles III, is rumored to have been allowed to relocate into the now-vacant Frogmore Cottage. It was reported originally by the Sun.
Former residents Harry and Meghan had until the beginning of summer to vacate the property; they have since moved to Montecito, California with their two young children (Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1). It is unclear who delivered the notice of eviction. But, ET has confirmed that this was a royal decree.
A source close to the royal family told ET that “any such chats would be a private family issue,” but the White House would not comment.
Charles’s move comes after Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary and book, Spare, fueled rumors of discord between the royal family and the pair.
Another source has verified to ET that Charles and Harry’s friendship has terminated because of Harry’s biography.
According to the insider, Harry and Meghan’s relationships with their families have “never been worse” since the release of Harry’s book. Charles is “very disturbed” by the book’s message.
The insider stated, “Harry was disrespectful to Camilla in the book, and you can’t expect to act that way without consequences.”
