Mom Tish Cyrus of Miley Cyrus fame is reportedly engaged to Prison Break season one actor Dominic Purcell. Learn the history behind the couple’s first encounter.

Tish Cyrus, mother of pop sensation Miley Cyrus, recently announced her engagement to Dominic Purcell, who portrayed Lincoln Burrows on the television series Prison Break. The two of them were seen holding hands in an Instagram snapshot she shared on April 29. Her emerald-cut diamond engagement ring was front and center in one of the shots. Tish added a thousand exclamation marks to her prior “YES” for @dominicpurcell.
Two of Dominic’s children and his ex-wife, Rebecca Williamson, found the message. Lily-Rose Purcell, the daughter, responded with “Yesssss” and a slew of emojis, including clapping hands, a dancing ball, and a heart.

More than a year after filing for divorce from Miley’s father, 61-year-old “Flowers” singer Billy Ray Cyrus, Cyrus’s mother, Tish, popped the question to Dominic. Tish became the musician’s wife in 1993. She now shares a home with her four adult children from a previous relationship: Brandi (age 35), Trace (age 34), Braison (age 28), and Noah (age 23).
Billy Ray and the Australian artist Firerose got engaged in November of 2022. Later that month, Tish (age 55) and Dominic (age 53) announced their relationship to the world by posting an Instagram photo of themselves holding hands next to a pool.
Tish and Dominic had visited her relatives many times over the course of the preceding months. She attended a party with the celebrity in January at a Los Angeles hotel, and she uploaded images of themselves there to Instagram. Also present were Miley and Brandi. Tish and Dominic attended Miley Cyrus’s “Endless Summer Vacation” album release party in March.
While this was going on, Tish and Dominic kept uploading selfies to social media. The actor posted a photo of the two of them to Instagram with the remark “Punching well above my weight—yes, certainly, I’m a happy guy.” on April 26, two days before Tish announced their engagement. She is the most wonderful person I have ever met. To quote a devoted fan: “Miley Cyrus, you have my heart.”
