Friends for life. A source tells ET that Matt Damon is very happy for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
“Ben and Jen are doing so well and are happier than they’ve ever been. Ben is doing well, and he is really Jen’s biggest fan. The source says, “He loves being with her and working with her too.”
“Damon loves Jen and thinks she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to Ben,” the person says. Matt is glad to see how happy Ben is. Ben is doing well in both his work and his home life. He thinks he can do and will do anything he wants in life now that Jen is behind him and helping him.”
The source says that the connection between Affleck and Lopez has been good for both of their health and the happiness of their families. “He is working out and feels good,” says the person. “His children love him with Jen, and they also like Jen’s children. They are all happy and live together.”
Bennifer got married in July 2022, and then later that summer, she had a bigger party. This year, the pair wants to spend as much time as possible with their families.
“They are planning some trips with the kids this summer, and hopefully one or two trips just for the two of them, so they can spend time together and unwind,” a source says. “They both like to keep busy and work, but they know it’s important to take a step back, enjoy their time as husband and wife, and be well-rounded and healthy. When one of them is about to book a new job and tells the other about it, they remind each other of this. It helps them set limits and put each other and their family before themselves.”
The good news follows Affleck’s jokes about how he used to live with Matt Damon when he first moved to Hollywood.
“Matt is a handsome guy. I love him. My best friend is him. He has always been good to me. He is a very smart person. During a recent interview on The Late Late Show With James Corden, he joked, “I wouldn’t live with him.”
Affleck justified his disclaimer by saying that Damon has “never paid a bill” and “has the ability to block things out.”
“I think that’s why he’s such a great actor, because he can just focus,” Affleck said. “He forgets that when you’re done with something, you have to wash it or throw it away.”
Damon is married to Luciana Barroso, and Affleck said, “God bless his wife, Lucy. There’s a place in heaven for you.”
