It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover will be made into a movie, and Jenny Slate will be in it, the author said today. Slate is the latest big name to join the project, which is getting more and more people excited.

Allysa is the sister of Ryle Kincaid, who is played by Justin Baldoni. Slate will play her. Lily Bloom, the main character, will be played by Blake Lively, and Atlas Corrigan will be played by Brandon Sklenar.

β€œAllysa is ours! β€œ@jennyslate is one of the most talented people I know, and I can’t believe she’ll be in this movie,” Hoover wrote on Instagram. β€œI’m so hungry right now because I’ve been so busy all day. I don’t know if I need to eat or if I’m just too excited and need to calm down. I’m going to eat a taco, but I’m sure I won’t feel any better after that.”

Hoover first said that Lively and Baldoni would be in the movie in January, not long after it was announced that her book would be made into a movie.

Lily Bloom from Lively is a college graduate from a small town who goes to Boston to open a flower shop. Ryle is a doctor who Lily meets when she gets there. He doesn’t like serious relationships. Atlas is Lily’s first love, and soon after she meets Ryle, he comes back into her life.

The movie will also be directed by Baldoni. The book is mostly about abuse in the home and is based on Hoover’s own youth. After Lively was chosen, Hoover took a video of herself outside the house where she and her siblings lived after their mother left their cruel father.

Hoover told her fans, β€œI just want everyone to know how grateful I am to my mother. When I was a little girl, she got us out of a scary situation and brought us to this house, which doesn’t look like much, but it was full of love and joy.” β€œThank you, mom, for making such a hard choice. I have nothing but good memories of this house.”

Hoover kept going by talking about the path of her book. When it came out in 2016, the book quickly became popular on TikTok. In 2022, it was the best-selling print book and stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for more than 90 weeks.
